Dr. AlMahameed is located at the Novant Health and Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. Prior to that, he joined the Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Houma, LA in 2015 as an interventional cardiologist. He received his doctorate from Damascus University School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine, followed by fellowship in vascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. He then accepted faculty appointment within the section of vascular medicine, department of cardiovascular medicine, where he also directed the vascular medicine research program. Dr. AlMahameed received a master’s degree in public health from Cleveland State University in 2005.
Dr. AlMahameed subsequently received general cardiology and interventional cardiology training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2010, Dr. AlMahameed accepted faculty appointment at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – Harvard Medical School and served as an interventional cardiologist and endovascular specialist, director of the vascular medicine and co-director of the peripheral interventions. He is the recipient of several awards, a prolific author, and a passionate teacher. His clinical and research focus relates to minimal invasive catheter-based therapies for arterial and venous disease.
